What more could you ask for than a Pioneer Spirit  to conquer the Hells Canyon Relay, starting at the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center outside Baker City, Oregon? You and your team mates will be running on some of the same routes used by the early pioneering settlers along their journey to the riches of the Northwest. Now is your time to capture the spirit and true grit of these determined people and to make their adventure your own!

The Hells Canyon Relay covers 210.6 miles as teams exchange runners through day and night to complete 36 continuous legs of varying lengths; meanwhile, teams for the Walking & High School Challenge will be covering 148.4 miles to complete 24 exchange points starting at Halfway, Oregon. All teams will finish at Pioneer Park in La Grande, Oregon the next day.

Hells Canyon Relay offers peaceful and plentiful views of rivers, canyons, valleys, wild life, stunning sunrises and sunsets, friendly communities, and challenging ascents and descents on Northeast Oregon’s Scenic Hells Canyon Byway.

Come and enjoy the Fall Season in “America’s Alps” where the seasonal average temperatures are:
